Within the walls of the newly reopened restaurant, which earned a James Beard Award in 2007, Deanna Munson and her family have plans to bring their own award-winning tastes to the space. But first they have to find a steak chef who can measure up to their grill.

ABILENE Two iconic restaurants in Abilene will be joined together on June 23 as the Brookville Hotel and Munson s Prime become Legacy Kansas.
The Munson family announced it is purchasing the Brookville with Chuck and Deanna Munson saying they intend to combine the two destination and legacy restaurants into one location.
When the restaurant reopens, it will initially feature the Brookville Hotel s family-style fried chicken dinners and adding hand-breaded chicken fried steak from the Munson Angus Farms. According to the announcement, within the next year, the plan is to have customers be able to enjoy the farms award-winning steaks, gourmet burgers and homemade ice cream with a replica of the Munson s Prime Steakhouse s iconic ice cream maker.
