THE co-founder of Dirleton’s former art gallery quietly celebrated her 100th birthday in lockdown this week. Elizabeth Maclean Munro, who has lived in the village since 1985, reached her centenary on Tuesday and planned to spend the day celebrating with her son Neil and chatting with family via online video calls – slightly more low key than her action-packed life so far. Born in Perth in 1921, to Perthshire Advertiser journalist Catherine Duff McLeish and businessman David Herdman Campbell, Elizabeth was the second of three children. Elizabeth attended Perth Academy and, at the start of the Second World War, volunteered as a driver.
