Erwin Tabora, municipal police chief, identified the fatalities as Jonathan Solaiman and Miguel Villador, both of Barangay Labungan, also of this town. Tabora said police who were manning a checkpoint flagged down the two who were riding a motorbike at about 10 p.m. "However, they sped away and police chased them until Barangay Crossing Awang. Instead of pulling over, the two traded shots with the police," he said. Tabora said the two were linked to a series of street robberies that victimized civilians at the viewing deck of a lovers' lane in Barangay Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat. Maj. Carl Jayson Baynosa, municipal police chief, identified the suspects as Jholamin Lembak, 32, of Datu Hofer, Maguindanao; and Alikan Santiago, 31, of Datu Anggal Midtimbang, Maguindanao. They were nabbed after selling about 50 grams of suspected shabu along the national highway in Barangay Tubon.
