Dockets will only be by appointment and there will be a limit of 14 per court session. The scheduled appointments are strictly for the person who has had charges filed against them, which means no additional people will be allowed in the courtroom.

Tuesday, December 22, 2020   View Larger + Rhode Island State Police announced Tuesday the arrest of Monique Clauson, the Town and Municipal Court Clerk in Lincoln. The State Police allege that Clauson diverted approximately $69,000 of Municipal Court funds between 2011 to 2020 for her own use. In October 2020, the State Police Financial Crimes Unit was contacted by the Lincoln Town Administrator T. Joseph Almond regarding unexplained shortages in the accounting of Municipal Court fine payments. Investigation by members of the Financial Crimes Unit revealed that as the Municipal Court Clerk, Clauson had the sole responsibility of collecting traffic court fines levied by the court.  Clauson was arraigned at State Police Headquarters and released on personal recognizance. Her next court date is scheduled for January 5, 2021 at the 3rd District Court.

December 22, 2020 5:56 pm LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) – Rhode Island State Police announced the arrest of a Lincoln town and court clerk for misappropriation of town funds on Tuesday. Major John Alfred said in a release that Monique Clauson, 55, of Lincoln, was arrested for unlawful appropriation over $1,000. In October 2020, the State Police Financial Crimes Unit was contacted by Lincoln Town Administrator T. Joseph Almond, who was concerned about unexplained shortages in the town’s Municipal Court fine payments. An investigation showed authorities that as the Municipal Court Clerk, Clauson was responsible for collecting traffic court fines. State Police said Clauson allegedly diverted approximately $69,000 of court funds between 2011 to 2020.
