Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday arrived in the Joshimath town of the state s Chamoli district to conduct a survey of the land subsidence-affected areas and meet the affected families.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that scientists were looking into the cause of the land subsidence in the state s Joshimath and the first priority remains to ensure that people are taken to safer areas.
The Uttarakhand Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) organisation has formed a 14-member committee to assess the land subsidence and damages taking place in Joshimath.
