千葉県八街市の市道で下校中の小学生の列に大型トラックが突っ込み5人が死傷した事故で、県警は30日、運転手、梅沢洋容疑者（60）=八街市=を自動車運転処罰法違反（危険運転致死傷）の疑いで送検した。同法違反の過失傷害容疑で現行犯逮捕していたが、事故前の飲酒や運転状況などを踏まえた。
県警によると、梅沢容疑者の呼気から基準値を超えるアルコールが検出されたほか、現場付近の防犯カメラの分析などから、正常な運転に支障が出ていた疑いがあると判断。罰則の重い容疑に切り替えた。
勤務先によると、梅沢容疑者は東京都江戸川区に資材を運び、現場近くの勤務先に戻るところだった。
