With a twirl of her cape and a lift of broomstick Perryville High School senior Grace Jones recreated the Wicked Witch of the West from âThe Wizard of Oz,â cackling to Dorothy Gale, played by senior Kaleigh Perez that sheâll get her, and her little dog too.
Jonesâ performance will be on the screen instead of the stage. When COVID 19 restrictions put a stop to Perryville High Schoolâs theater productions, the program, led by Jill Welsheimer stepped in to ensure students like Jones still have a chance to showcase their talent. The school is currently making a feature length film version of âThe Wizard of Oz,â shot entirely in Cecil County.
