The police on Monday said the violators were booked over three days, between November 10, when the HC issued the revised timings for bursting crackers, and November 12 during which 784 cases were registered.
The Indian Express reports highlighted that the pollution plan was not implemented on the ground. They also noted the lack of enough air quality monitoring stations.
According to MPCB officials, these 18 units are business enterprises involved in metal works, electrical and welding works, garment manufacturing units and laundries that were operating without valid permissions. The officials maintained that all the units were operational in Kurla in the eastern suburbs.
