A suspect in a Rs 50 lakh robbery, Vinod Devkar had been evading the police for 14 months. When they learnt he would be attending a wedding in Yavatmal, the police team dressed up as wedding guests to catch him.
A group of six conmen disguised as Anti-Corruption Bureau officials stole around Rs 36 lakh worth of valuables, including Rs 25.25 lakh in cash, from the residence of a retired government official in Navi Mumbai. The conmen arrived at the official s home posing as police officers, stating a lodged complaint to justify conducting a house search.
The accused and his accomplice allegedly robbed a 60-year-old woman in Andheri while she was on her way to a temple. They stole her mangalsutra and a gold chain and fled, the police said.
