According to the IMD, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, light to moderate rain and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places are very likely in the city. A yellow alert was issued for Mumbai.
Maharashtra weather: The Meteorological department has predicted a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain in Mumbai and suburbs with a possibility of occasional intense spells for the next 24 hours.
After a dry spell in June, heavy rainfall in most parts of Maharashtra in July has more than doubled the collective water stock in dams across the state within a span of a fortnight.
