Pre Monsoon showers are expected over Mumbai on June 9, 10 and 11. More showers are expected thereafter. As far as the storm is concerned, when Biparjoy moves abeam Mumbai, it will still be at a distance of 700 km, which is too far to give any significant impact.
For now, Mumbai is witnessing maximum temperatures in mid 30s, while the minimums are in their mid 20s. Discomfort is expected to be high, with weather conditions expected to be sultry conditions as well as humid.
Temperatures are around 32 and 33 degrees, and not a lot of drop is expected. Around May 3, 4 and 5, we can see showers being more spread out and even moderate in a few areas.
Temperatures will take a dip due to these rains but we cannot expect major relief from the sweltering heat. There may be some marginal drop during the time of rains and maximums may be about 33-34 degrees Celsius.
As far as the month of March is concerned, rains are absent from the commercial capital of India. In fact, the monthly mean of Mumbai is at 0.1 mm, which means that the city almost does not see any rains whatsoever.
