According to the 13th genome sequencing report of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 268 of the 269 samples processed for genome sequencing were detected with a subtype of Omicron variant.
Out of 279 swab samples tested during the 12th genome sequencing series in Mumbai, 278 were found infected with Omicron sub-variants of coronavirus and 1 with the Delta strain, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said on Monday.
Around 95 per cent of swab samples examined in the latest round of genome sequencing in Mumbai were found infected with the Omicron variant, the BMC said.
