Petrol prices unchanged across metros for eighth consecutive day

Oil marketing companies (OMC) kept fuel prices unchanged for the eighth consecutive day across the four metros on Sunday.
In
Mumbai, petrol was sold for Rs 97.57 per litre on Sunday.
Similarly, in Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata, the fuel was priced at Rs 91.17, Rs 93.11 and Rs 91.35 per litre, respectively, all unchanged from the previous levels.
The surge in retail prices comes despite a surge in crude oil prices. Brent crude futures are currently over $69 per barrel.
In Mumbai, petrol was sold for Rs 97.57 per litre on Sunday. Similarly, in Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata, the fuel was priced at Rs 91.17, Rs 93.11 and Rs 91.35 per litre, respectively, all unchanged from the previous levels.
In Mumbai, petrol now costs Rs 95.75 per litre against 95.46 per litre on Monday and Rs 95.21 per litre on Sunday. The cost of diesel increased to Rs 86.72 per litre against Rs 86.34 on Monday and Rs 86.04 on Sunday.
Petrol and diesel price rise went on the pause mode on Saturday after two consecutive days of sharp increase where pump price of the auto fuels rose by 65 paise per litre.
