Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data shows that over Rs 55.56 crore (Rs 55,56,21,800 to be precise) has been collected in fines till 23 May 2021 from Mumbaikars who went without a face covering in public places amid a second Covid wave.
The above amount is the cumulative fine collected by the BMC, Mumbai police and the Railways. A fine of Rs 200 is imposed on all those who are flouting the rules.
