Interestingly, some beaches like Dadar had much more garbage than usual, while some like Juhu had much less. Citizen activists said more than the location of the beach, the direction of the tide mattered as it brought in the garbage.

Mumbai: A dead body of a woman, stuffed in a gunny bag, was found at Malad s Aksa beach on Thursday morning, police said. According to a Mumbai Police official, the body was in a decomposed state and had probably been in the bag for three to four days. The official stated that the body of the woman inside the bag was spotted by a passerby at the beach, who then immediately alerted the police. The body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death. Untitled Carousel Three people, including two minors, believed to be mother and children were found on the railway tracks between Nalasopara and Vasai stations on Saturday.
