woman her life last week. the president indicated at the press conference this morning at checkers, he s not prepared to do that. he wants to have a nice meeting with putin. how can he do that following these indictments? clint watts, an msnbc national security analyst, joining us as well. clint, the forensics are pretty remarkable. as a former fbi official, tell us how hard this is, to have tracked these specific 12, according to the allegations in at it indictment. yes, this is a multi-agency, probably, multiyear effort to try and track down these forensics. it s hard to prove, you ve heard that there is no proof of this direct connection between russia and the dnc breach and other hacks that went on. this is a substantial document with lots of details, comparable to the research agency indictment we saw back in february. it puts names on personas.
purely for optics sake? by that i mean kim jong-un, president trump in a photo that would be plastered on the front page of every publication in the world for a day or two and after that not much else in terms of substantive policy changes? well, two things. i think they will be there will be a summit. i m with andrea on this. i would bet on that. whether the 12th a substantive summit. on the substantive issue. again, if you follow what the secretary of state has said and he seems to be serious about this. they won t have a summit unless they make real progress. it s not going to be for show. not going to be a costume. you know, obviously the summit itself is not going to be where they negotiate out every single element of what will be a multiyear, complex affair. they will set general principles. they will set general benchmarks, and then it s going to be up to the lower levels of the bureaucracy to make that

omnibus spending bill that congress is going to be voting on. president tweeting this morning got $1.6 billion to start wall on the southern border. the rest will be forthcoming. most importantly, got $700 billion to rebuild our military. $716 billion next year. the most ever. had to waste money on dem giveaways in order to take care of military pay increase and new equipment. while the president did get $1.6 billion for some 90 miles of border barriers and technologies, he did not get the multiyear, multibillion dollar funding that he was look for for that massive concrete and steel wall that he saw prototypes of last week. nor did he get the money for an additional border agents that he wanted. at $1.3 trillion or more, this is a lot more than what the president wanted but didn t have much choice. here s legislative director earlier today. there s no doubt that it provides more nondefense spending that we would like. but the alternative is to shut down the government, not provide o
keep doing that. so that the multiyear strategy has got to be shelved. and we have got to have a sense of urgency and resolve to bring this to an end as quickly as we can. that s where the major policy shift has to be taken. and the sooner we get on with that, the better in terms of the safety of the world and american citizens. most seem to agree that just striking from the air is not going to get the job done. there is agreement about where you go beyond that. last night, senator bernie sanders talked about he doesn t want any u.s. troops on the ground. he says it has to be muslim troops on the ground. hillary clinton is different in saying that special operators could be there, but doesn t want to see combat troops on the ground. how does this work in the long-term, this really truly eviscerating isis. i think in iraq, i don t believe we need combat troops. i think what we do know, we need considerably more advisers, trainers and tactical air controllers on the ground. i would t
