PUTRAJAYA (April 23): Leading technology companies like Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Amazon have stated their willingness to share their experience and advice with Malaysia regarding the implementation of MyDIGITAL, said Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah.
In an onine engagement session with the four companies today, he said the discussion touched on the implementation of MyDIGITAL with regard to Internet connectivity, local technology growth and development, data management and improving communication with people with disabilities (PwD).
MyDIGITAL is an agenda to transform Malaysia into a high-income nation that is driven by technology and digitalisation as well as being a regional leader in digital economy.

PUTRAJAYA, April 18 The government has always taken the stand of defending media freedom including social media nonetheless it should not be abused, said Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah.
Referring to the advertisement promoting gambling with an Aidilfitri theme, Saifuddin said even though the government practises media freedom, it is also responsible for taking the appropriate action if there are matters which cross the legal boundary.

We know in this digital community, it is almost impossible to control everything. So we understand the situation of life in the digital society.
“The government will defend the freedom of the media including social media but there are limits, ” he told a media conference on the Hari Raya-themed gambling advertisement here Sunday (April 18).
