M-HOPE, MRC embraces identity in Multicultural Art Showcase

M-HOPE, MRC embraces identity in Multicultural Art Showcase Event included Zoom performances, displays on the Spine May 3, 2021 This Friday, April 30, Binghamton University’s Mental Health Outreach Peer Educators (M-HOPE) hosted a Multicultural Art Showcase in collaboration with the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC). The event was held in celebration of artistic expression inspired by students’ cultural and personal identities. Attendees were able to visit and participate in the first part of the event, which took place on the Spine from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Then, they were able to view performances on Zoom from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Multicultural Art Showcase this year drew inspiration from the discontinued Art Walks that M-HOPE had hosted in previous years. This year’s event, however, had to adapt in response to a number of challenges, including COVID-19 restrictions and a growing number of remote students. MHOPE & MRC to host Multicultural Art Show Provided by MHOPE Instagram The Multicultural Art Showcase will be hosted in collaboration with M-HOPE and the MRC. Visual art, comedy, poetry, dance to be performed along the Spine April 28, 2021 This Friday, April 30 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Binghamton University’s Mental Health Outreach Peer Educators (M-HOPE) organization will be collaborating with the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) to host a Multicultural Art Showcase along the Spine. The event will feature artwork inspired and informed by BU students’ cultural backgrounds and self-identities. Submissions range from dance to poetry and comedy to visual art.
