New Pop-up COVID-19 vaccine sites open around the Hudson Valley

News 12 Staff Updated on:Feb 27, 2021, 12:06pm EST Two pop-up vaccine sites opened Saturday in the Hudson Valley area.   Members of Gov. Andrew Cuomo s administration visited one of the vaccine centers at the Mount Kisco Senior Center. The Mulberry House Senior Center in Middletown also opened a pop-up vaccine center.  Another site opened at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center on Friday. Appointments at these three locations have already been filled. Those seeking an appointment for the vaccine should go to the state’s website. https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/Many of these pop-ups have appeared in communities hardest hit by the virus or those with large minority communities.Pop-up vaccine sites have been seen in Port Chester, Yonkers, Mount Vernon, and Haverstraw - among other places

COVID-19: Three New Hudson Valley Pop-Up Vaccination Sites To Open

Orange County: Newburgh Armory Unity Center, in Newburgh Appointments have already been filled at each site. They are among a dozen new community-based pop-up vaccination sites coming online this week at churches, community centers, public housing complexes, and cultural centers in downstate New York to “bolster the state’s commitment to ensuring fairness and equity in the vaccine distribution process.” The sites are expected to vaccinate more than 3,700 people this week, with more sites expected to open up in the coming weeks. Since the community-based pop-up sites starting going online last month more than 46,000 New Yorkers have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
