Preparations afoot to observe Shaheed Dibash in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, Feb 19, 2021 (BSS) – All necessary preparations have been completed to observe the “Shaheed Dibash and International Mother Language Day-2021” paying rich tribute to the Language Movement Martyrs in Rangpur division on Sunday.
Officials in the district administrations said the day will be observed in a befitting manner with limited scale programmes across the division abiding by the health directives in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In line with the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the programmes taken by different organisations will also present the special contribution of Bangabandhu to the language movement on the day.
All set to observe ‘Amar Ekushey’ in Khulna

KHULNA: Different government, semi-government, autonomous bodies, socio-cultural organisations, political parties and educational institutions have completed all preparations to observe the “Amar Ekushey and International Mother Language Day-2021” on February 21 (Sunday).
As per government directives, at least five people from different organisations will be allowed to go to the Shaheed Minar premises in memory of the Language Heroes and at least two persons could place wreaths on it, said Mohammad Helal Hossain, Deputy Commissioner of Khulna.
According to officials, the district and upazila administrations and other organisations have chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the day in a befitting manner.
25 sick freedom fighters receive Victory Day gifts in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Dec 16, 2020 (BSS) – A number of 25 sick freedom fighters have received gifts provided from the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina marking the Victory Day.
Executive magistrate of Gaibandha deputy commissioner (DC) Office Md. Lokman Hossain formally handed over the gifts to the freedom fighters going to their houses on Tuesday on behalf of the government.
The freedom fighters got a packet of sweets, TK 4000 and a stick of flower.
Deputy Commander of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad, Sadar upazila unit Md. Khoybar Hossain Khoka accompanied the magistrate at that time.
After getting the gifts, the freedom fighters thanked the government to remember them.
