Elderly man fined RM5,000 for breaking home quarantine

KUANTAN: An elderly man in Raub has been fined thousands of ringgit for breaking quarantine while two others were similarly penalised for failing to comply with Covid-19 standard operating procedures. Raub OCPD Supt Kama Azural Mohamed said the first man, who was supposed to be under quarantine at home, was out and about even though he was wearing the pink wristband. The excuse given was that it was too hot at home and he wanted to go for a walk. Such an excuse is highly unreasonable and can cause the spread of Covid-19 to the general public if he is found to be positive, Supt Kama Azural said in a statement on Wednesday (May 5).
