A group of boatmen from Chandod, who had formed Navik Shramjivi Mandal several years ago, had permits and insurances but these could not be renewed since a decade due to lack of clarity regarding procedures. After the Harni tragedy, they process for registration and permits has been set in motion again following demands by the boatmen.
