India fastest COVID vaccinating country, says Health Ministry
India has become the fastest Covid-19 vaccinating country in the world with a daily average of 30,93,861 vaccine doses, the Union Health Ministry said.

NEW DELHI: India has become the fastest Covid-19 vaccinating country in the world with a daily average of 30,93,861 vaccine doses, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
With this, India has surpassed the US which is vaccinating 30.93 lakh people per day on an average.
According to the ministry, the cumulative number of coronavirus vaccine doses administered in India so far has crossed 8.70 crore on Day 81 of the vaccination drive that was launched on January 16, nearly a month after it was started in the US. Till April 6, India had administered 33,37,601 vaccine doses to the beneficiaries. A total of 8,70,77,474 vaccine doses have been administered so far in India through 13,32,130 sessions. GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of former APSC (Assam Public Service Commission) chairman Rakesh Paul once again. Paul is the prime accused in the cash-for-job scam in the APSC.
The bail was sought in connection with the case registered at the Bhangagarh Police Station, which relates to irregularities in appointing the ADOs (Agricultural Development Officers) in Agriculture Department.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court said it was shocked by the Allahabad High Court order, which summoned Uttar Pradesh government officers in a contempt case, despite the proceedings having been stayed by it.
A bench comprising Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Hemant Gupta said: The frequent, causal and lackadaisical summoning of high officials by the Court cannot be appreciated. We may add that this does not mean that in compelling situations, the same cannot be done but the object cannot be to humiliate senior officials.
