Singapore | Malaysiaâs prime minister has ruled the country canât afford a national lockdown amid mounting criticism of the governmentâs approach to a rapidly worsening COVID-19 outbreak.
Malaysia is in the grip of a fierce third wave of infections that shows no immediate sign of peaking. The country, with a population of 32.73 million â 27 per cent larger than Australiaâs â recorded 38,785 new cases and 333 deaths in the week ended Saturday, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
