Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 11 (ANI): The boat ambulance service, equipped with healthcare facilities, has started on Dal Lake in the Jammu and Kashmir Valley.
The service, which is expected to benefit thousands of people in the landlocked region, is the brainchild of Tariq Ahmad Patloo.
A houseboat owner in Srinagar, Patloo came up with the idea of floating ambulance last year after he was tested positive for Coronavirus. Considering the situation at hospitals and homes due to rising cases, I have set up this facility for people. I got a number of phone calls for assistance and I provided them proper help as per their requirement. Presently the ambulance is full with main equipment including first aid, stretcher, wheelchair, BP set, and PPE kits, Patloo told ANI.
