92nd death anniversary of Mirza Qaleech Baig marked July 5, 2021 SUKKUR: A webinar was organised by the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, to mark the 92nd death anniversary of great scholar late Shams ul Ulma Mirza Qaleech Baig on Saturday. Reports said the speakers, on the occasion, paid glowing tributes to renowned writer Shams-ul-Ulema Mirza Qaleech Baig for his services to promote the Sindhi language and literature. They said Baig had given due recognition of Sindhi as language at official level even in Sindh province. The vice chancellor, Prof Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, said it is unfortunate that no road or institution had yet been the name after him, adding that the Sindh University took the initiative in 2009 and established the Mirza Qaleech Chair, which had been made more effective with the publication of his books.
