Bid to improve Kuwait’s energy efficiency
KUWAIT CITY, April 20: The Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Minister of Social Affairs, Labor and Community Development, Dr Mishaan Al-Otaibi, announced the opening of the Center for Operation and Management of the Smart Meter System of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, as part of the Ministry’s plan and future vision for the gradual transformation of the current network from typical to smart network using modern technology and information systems which will significantly contribute to improving energy efficiency. He said the Ministry has adopted the smart meters project and the aim is to provide distinguished digital services to customers in the area of billing and consumption control.

Vehicles allocation committee reconstituted
KUWAIT CITY, April 10: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works, Eng. Ismail Al-Failakawi, has issued a decision to reconstitute the Government Vehicles Allocation Committee headed by the Assistant Undersecretary for the Supervision and Auditing Sector and members comprise the ministry’s undersecretaries for maintenance engineering, sanitary engineering affairs, construction projects affairs, financial, administrative and legal affairs, the director of the transportation and mechanical affairs sectors and the stores. On the other hand, Al-Failakawi, has issued a decision to determine the working hours during the Holy Month of Ramadan for the Hijri year 1442 which stipulates the working hours from Sunday to Thursday will be from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Gas turbines unit project opened
KUWAIT CITY, April 8: The Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Minister of Social Affairs, Labor and Community Development, Dr. Mishaan Al-Otaibi, announced the first phase of the installation of smart meters will begin within 3 months. The minister was quoted as saying within three years entire Kuwait will be provided with smart meters. This came in statements to reporters on the sidelines of the opening of a project for the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of gas turbine units operating on the combined cycle system to increase the electric power in the Subbiya station for electric power and water distillation.

KUWAIT CITY, April 6: The Complaints and Arbitration Committee at the General Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) discussed the violations committed by airlines operating at the Kuwait International Airport in terms of non-compliance with health requirements. During the meeting the committee is said to have listed 160 violations and approved the fines slapped against these airlines.
The Director of the Air Transport Department, Chairman of the Complaints and Arbitration Committee, Abdullah Al- Rajhi, also looked into the passengers’ complaints and violations committed by travel and tourism offices and airlines in the presence of all members of the committee representatives of several government agencies.
