Unity. Sheema District had the aspiring district chairperson, Mr Laban Muhabwe, withdraw from the race leaving an NRM candidate Jemimah Buganda unopposed.
Mr Muhabwe said: “I am an NRM cadre who has been telling people to stop Independents therefore contesting as an Independent would tarnish the reputation of our party.”
Ms Buganda promised to unite the people of Sheema since they have been divided along religious lines.
