deportation of family and friends. the difference, we won t have a resolution on this before the election, the mid-term elections. the supreme court has said we re going to let the process carry out throughout this states. we ll continue to monitor that and monitor the meeting the president has, is having right now on sanctuary cities. juan and guy, thank you. sure thing. thanks. the president meeting with saudi arabia s crown prince this morning. jack keane will have reaction. plus you said that special counsel mueller wouldn t be fired. paul ryan reacting to speculation that the president is considering firing special counsel robert mueller. his answer next.
the u.s. attorney s office. we would sometimes set goals for completing an investigation within a certain time but we never set deadlines. you never know what you are going to find out. you learn about other documents you need to look at. so i think it would be really not in the best interest of the investigation to agree to any deadline. i don t see that happening. is there a scenario where mueller wouldn t be able to interview the president? any case you could see? i think unlikely. he may not voluntarily appear. but i think mueller could use a grand jury subpoena to compel trump to testify before the grand jury. and i think that is less advantageous for president trump. i think he and his lawyers would prefer to be in a scenario where they are in ab office with the president seated next to his lawyers as they go through the questions. as opposed to president trump being all alone in the grand jury room. i think ultimately they will negotiate ab interview. when it comes to that
a colorful guy as is roger stone, who he is friends with, another colorful guy there. but what about this world how this is playing, what do you think of this, the world he s playing? by my count he s done seven interviews in a few short hours. look at all these interviews. we don t have up on the screen, the interviews he did by telephone, some of them, maybe some by radio. why would his lawyer let him do this? i can t imagine why what lawyer did. i think he said in one of the interviews he tried to call his lawyer and the lawyer wouldn t answer the telephone call. so, i think in the end, don, his lawyer will persuade him that it s not worth going to jail over stiffing a grand jury and he ll realize that this is serious and that he s got to go in and answer some questions. maybe his lawyer will get the subpoena narrowed somewhat, but not a lot. mueller is going to get what he wants. the trump allies have called
it s not okay. this is the court s mechanism to compel people to come in. and if he does not, then he ll be held in civil contempt and go to nunberg on erin burnett. watch this. do you have immunity, were you offered immunity by bob mueller s team? they say to you you re not a subject or target. now, when you go in there, what they say is as long as you tell the truth, anything else you tell them, you re not going to get charged for. and i told them all the truth. i mean and once again, they were very, very good when i went in there. so everything you ve told them they said they will not charge you for? yeah. john, as we discussed many times on this show, mueller wouldn t just offer immunity for nothing. what does mueller want to hear from him? well, he wants to hear the truth. that wasn t a formal grant of immunity. that was an informal what they call equitable immunity where the prosecutors agree. we won t prosecute you based on
kushner s ties in qatar, turkey, in russia and the uae and whether there s a connection of the kushner businesses and policies that he has supported in the white house. what would mueller need to prove here? what sort of connection would he need to prove here? first, mueller wouldn t need to prove the fact there s a foreign government involved and not the same as the campaign finance laws. in fact, any involvement, domestic, foreign, anyone to potentially violate the general federal law prohibiting conflict of interest. section 208. in a case of jared kushner, it s not illegal for him to have business interests. it is not illegal to hold stocks or property or credit default swaps or something like that. what is illegal is holding the interests and then participating in a particular manner in the government in which he has that
