Seven suspects who escaped from the Zenu Atadeka Police Cell, which is under the Tema Regional Police Command, have been rearrested by the police.
Three of the fugitives were grabbed at their hideout at Kubekrom Number Two last Sunday, the day of the jailbreak, while three others were grabbed in separate operations at Juapong last Tuesday.
The seventh suspect, Sumaila Karim, 21, surrendered himself to the police on April 8, 2021.

The acting Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Tema Regional Police Command, Chief Inspector Stella Dede Dzakpasu, said six of the escapees had been put before the Ashaiman Circuit Court, where they were convicted on their own plea of guilty to charges related to their escape from lawful custody.

The Tema Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Barima Tweneboah Sasraku II, has entreated chiefs to endeavour to resolve land disputes in the region.
He said disputes over land had become a major source of conflict in the area, which the commander said was undermining the development of the region.
Barima Sasraku, who is the Chief of Jukwa-Mfuom and Adontenhene of the Abuakwa Nifa Division of Denkyira in the Central Region, said it was important for chiefs to use their time-tested traditional conflict resolution mechanisms to end all unresolved conflicts to pave way for continued development.

47- year-old woman arrested for allegedly possessing cannabis

A 47-year-old woman was on Monday arrested by the Tema Police for allegedly possessing a quantity of dried leaves, suspected to be cannabis, at Katamanso near Ashaiman.
Vida Adjaho was apprehended after a search in her room revealed the substance concealed in black polythene bag and one wrapper of the cannabis in the room.
The Tema Regional Police Acting Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Dede Dzakpasu,, who confirmed the story to the Ghanaian Times, said while the Zenu-Atadeka Police Patrol team was on its usual rounds in Katamanso, the police had information that the suspect was peddling in narcotic substance in her house.

Mawuli Sosu, a 43-year-old mason from Keta, sold his two sons, aged 18 and 15 years, to the fisherman, David Akweteybor, who resides at Tewoekpo, an Island near Tokoranu, in the Dambai District in the Volta Region to fish on the Volta Lake.
The father was reported to have been paid GH¢300 as a yearly fee for each of his sons.
The court also sentenced Sosu to seven years on the crime of provision of a trafficked person, eight years on the human trafficking charges and five years for the charge of conspiracy.
