Nassau County Executive Laura Curran has released the following statement on the MTAâs recent decision not to raise LIRR fares yet again:
Statement from County Executive Curran on MTA Fare Hike Decision “The decision by the MTA not to raise fares was the right move. I will never stop fighting to protect the thousands of residents who depend on the LIRR from shouldering the financial burden of this pandemic. Public transportation plays a major role in the revival of our local economy. I will continue to do everything I can to restore ridership while protecting residents from further financial stresses,” Curran said.
