A severe weather warning for south-east Queensland has been cancelled as a low pressure system sits further offshore, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) says.
Key points:
Intense rainfall is no longer expected but locally heavy falls are possible
The weather system is still expected to bring hazardous surf conditions for much of the south-east coast
A general reprieve from the rain is forecast from Tuesday, with bright and warmer conditions
