Steep Ravine Trail in Mount Tamalpais State Park is a shady, contemplative jaunt through a redwood ecosystem with lush ferns, burbling waterfalls and a famous ladder. It can also be made part of a journey along the Dipsea Trail, a gorgeous trek up and down punishing slopes to Stinson Beach. It closed down due to several bridges needing to be shored up or replaced. Then, just as it was about to reopen at the end of March 2023, a redwood tree fell down on one of them. And now it's open again.
