senator in 1973, so this is not the first or last issue we ll hear about the evolution of joe biden. exactly, with the wrong track record and you have such a paper trail and so many votes, of course this is what some of joe biden s opponents are going to love this primary season, that they can tap into inconsistencies and evolutions within his political background. the reality here is that this was status quo for catholic democrats for decades. this did not get taken out of the democratic platform until 2016. this is, yes, something else he s probably going to, as you saw, have to address, but it is, to a certain extent we know he s going to be dealing with how positions have changed over decades of politics. nearly a half century. fascinating report. heidi, thank you so much. we ll read your new report on msnbc news.com. to commemorate the 76th

this sort of meddling again in 2018? sure. i just wrote a piece on it which is posted on msnbc news.com. this attempted attack of clare make haskill is an example of the notion that russia has not been deterred in the least. what experts and lawmakers say is the reason they haven t been deterred is there has been no presidential leadership in the two years since our government was attacked, our democracy was attacked by russia. after 9/11 the u.s. government reorganized to prevent such attack from happening again. there has been no such movement in the wake of an attack that some lawmakers, including john mccain, said was an act of war. there have been individual efforts by agencies, dhs working with the states, the fbi has a foreign influence task force, the nsa is stepping up its game in cyberspace. absent white house leadership, you are not going to get the approach you need. for example, tackling the meddling on social media by russian bots and trolls is a
