Chris, we were walking with a group that had been assembled in front of the 5th precinct. They started marching as soon as the the curfew was imposed. And entirely 100 peaceful march. We walked several miles with them. We were toward the back of the group. We werent in the front of the group. And, suddenly, in an intersection in front of us, with about twothirds of the group in front of us, and about a third including us behind, state police and a number of cars, supported by National Guard, moved into the intersection, got out, and began firing, entirely unprovoked, at the group. They started firing teargas and projectiles. I took i took one of them to my leg. What appeared to be a rubber bullet. But it it they were shooting at people. They were shooting teargas out there. People marched through the city streets. Protests in los angeles also turned violent again as more Police Vehicles were set on fire there. While protesters in minneapolis where all of this started continued to take to the streets. New york seeing gathering crowds with calls of another curfew tonight. There have been protests throughout the weekend. When you look at this right here, something youre certainly aware of if you go online or watch the news, many of these protests were peaceful. Many were largely orderly. And we have been reporting that out as a news organization, along with, of course, some of the very regrettable incidents which included violence and looting. Tonight, well give you the full facts, the clashes with police, as well as the political protests. And we begin right now with what the family of george floyd is demanding. This is a time to listen to them. Youre looking at footage of mr. Floyds brother when he took a knee with other protesters this afternoon in minneapolis. You can hear the chants.
