Real estate is experiencing an upturn in India due to economic growth and urbanisation, with the advent of fractional ownership making commercial properties accessible to retail investors, offering higher rental returns and capital appreciation.
SEBI has recently issued guidelines for Small and Medium Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), which are expected to facilitate the listing of a significant number of previously unregistered fraction ownership platforma (FOPs) like Strata, hBits PropertyShare, Assetmonk, Alyf, YOURS and WiseX dealing in real estate assets.
Indian Real Estate: The desire for homeownership remains undeterred among consumers, as residential sales continue to breach previous highs. In the first nine months of 2023, an estimated 196,227 units were sold across top seven cities—marking a 15-year high.
