A wealthy heiress who was allegedly drowned by her husband at their Danish holiday home so he could claim £3.5million in life insurance suffered 13 injuries to her head and body, a court has heard.
Donald McPherson, 47, from Sale, Greater Manchester, is accused of drowning his wife Paula Leeson, 47, while on holiday at a rented cottage with a swimming pool in Denmark.
The prosecution claims that he stood to gain a vast fortune after the couple took out joint life insurance policies worth around £3.5million.
They also allege he skilfully staged the alleged murder to make it look like an accident.
