WORKSHOP: Everard Close A NEW workshop will not be allowed to be built in the middle of a housing estate after plans were rejected by councillors. The proposal to build a new workshop between two garages in Everard Close off Monarch Drive in Worcester was refused by Worcester City Council s planning committee over fears it would cause too many problems for existing residents. The application was one of the first in Worcester to make use of Government changes to the planning system from last year which allow for greater flexibility in what buildings can be used for. St Clement ward councillor Chris Mitchell told councillors he was concerned the council was being asked to support a vague application, which did not state what the workshop would be used for, with no plans for soundproofing, extraction or attenuation system and just ten metres away from the back door of some of the nearest homes.
