An elderly couple who were stopped from seeing each other at an Inverness care home â even through a closed window â are to enjoy an emotional reunion on their golden wedding anniversary.
Anne Chambers (78) will be able to share a hug and a glass of champagne with husband Brian (86) indoors at Cradlehall Court Care Home on Boxing Day after the Courier intervened to highlight their heartbreaking plight last week.

A heartbroken wife is begging an Inverness care home to let her see her dementia-stricken husband before it is too late.
Retired Anne Chambers (78) has been told she is no longer welcome to visit Cradlehall Court Care Home â even to wave to Brian (86) through a closed window â due to coronavirus restrictions.
