Police officers took to the streets to perform a guard of honour at the funeral service of a 101-year-old woman so that her service would not go entirely unattended.
Members of the force paid tribute to Ellen Bromley, from Blackpool, Lancashire, who outlived all her family and friends including her only son, after she passed away on March 26.
Mrs Bromley s carers had arranged for officers from Blackpool Police to pay their respects ahead of the funeral service on April 21 in an effort to commemorate the centenarian s life.
