Governor Kayode Fayemi has restated the readiness of his administration to collaborate with the Federal Government and other relevant agencies on initiatives aimed at ensuring child protection in the state.
The governor, who stated this in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Government on “At Risk Children Initiative”, disclosed that the state recorded an increase of 20,000 in primary school enrolment, between 2018 and 2020, aside the increase recorded in secondary schools.
He said the main thrust of the initiative was to support children all over the country, build their capacity and ensure that their communities kept an eye on them, by respecting their rights and providing them with adequate security.

Abuja, Dec. 4, 2020 First Lady Aisha Buhari has called for strategic partnership to end the raising cases of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) against women and girls in Nigeria.
She made the call on Friday at a Seminar to mark the 2020 United Nations UN Women’s campaign for 16 days of activism against GBV in Abuja.
Naija247news reports that the event was organised by the Secretariat of the African First Lady’s Peace Mission in collaboration with the office of Nigeria’s first lady.
The theme of the Seminar is ” The first lady as leader and mobiliser of women and youths for peace building, conflict Resolution and Resilience in the Post COVID-19 Era.
