Sandy Anghie.
Perth s new Deputy Lord Mayor Sandy Anghie has defended the lease deal on a meeting room in West Perth, which enabled her to run for the city council.
9News and WAtoday spent six weeks watching the small room in Altona Street and saw no sign of the councillor.
Apart from a desk and some chairs, the meeting room is completely empty. People spoken to in the office complex were unaware the councillor was leasing the room, and none could recall seeing the room being used.
But Mrs Anghie said the lease was legitimate and had been approved by the council. She would not answer questions about how often she had used the space.
