Loughran forced to retire aged 26

Loughran forced to retire aged 26 February 24, 2021 Tyrone s Harry Loughran has retired from gaelic football because of injury. The Moy Tir na nOg forward made six championship appearances for the Red Hands since 2017 and had a knack of scoring goals at crucial times, most notably his extra-time winner in the All-Ireland qualifier against Meath that year, although a long standing back problem denied him the chance to fulfil his potential in the county jersey. Aged just 26, Loughran s injury woes started as a teenager after he suffered a stress fracture to his lower back which sidelined him for four years. He battled back and starred for his club Moy in their run to All-Ireland IFC glory in 2018, scoring a dramatic late goal in the semi-final win over An Ghaeltacht of Kerry and followed up with another major in the decider against Michael Glaveys.
