somehow ended yeardley s life threaten all of us. they told us basically we either take it off or they re going to start we get suspended. so much to talk about today. thank you for keeping us company here at hln. i m christi paul. we have just learned that police in new york arrested nfl hall of famer lawrence taylor today as part of a rape investigation. now, a statement from the police department says the reported rape happened today in mont bello new york. the police say formal charges will be filed once their investigation is complete. but they say they ll provide more information at a news conference this afternoon. let me give you what we know. 51-year-old taylor was a linebacker for the new york giants from 1981 to 1993, and cnn s attempts to contact his agents have not been scuffle thus far, but when we hear from them, we ll bring it to you right away. in session host vinnie politan is with us to discuss more about this. so from what i have read thus far, the

i m christi paul. we have some breaking news out of new york. police want to talk with a man you are seeing in this surveillance video. you see him there taking his shirt off. this was shot saturday just about the time someone tried to set off a car bomb in times square. it s one of several surveillance and amateur videos that police are reviewing right now as they look for clues about the attempted bombing and try to identify witnesses to the failed attack. is this person a suspect, a person of interest? no, not in any way. he could be totally innocent. it s one of the first videos we obtained. we thought it warranted an interview. he s taking his shirt off. that was a very warm day, but this happens just around the time that the pops start to go off inside the car. so that s why we just simply want to talk to him. now police do have several other leads in the case. for one, they tracked down the owner of the nissan pathfinder. a police official says investigators have

louisiana shoreline by tomorrow. there is apparently five times as much oil leaking as originally estimated. it s headed straight for a wildlife refuge. oyster beds, fisheries, volunteers have prepared to deploy oil-skimming booms along the shore, and may face a major battle. the blown-out oil rig may be dumping more than 200,000 gallons of crude oil into the gulf every day, enough to fill an olympic size swimming pool to a depth of two feet. and of course, 11 people who were on the drilling platform have never been found. some workers who managed to escape are having trouble coping with what happened. carlos may ramos escaped the blast, but his wife says it s haunting him. people were on fire, jumping overboard. he s at home right now with our baby, and if there is a loud noise, he drops. if there is a heavy toy that s dropped, he s started. i m hoping these men can all get help. the human impact of the story, okay? ramos is talking to a lawyer about a possible lawsuit.
