you can see this woman is lucky to be alive after being pulled from raging floodwaters to safety. heavy rain in the country has triggered massive mudslides which have completely buried several villages perched on mountain slopes. the pictures show the destructive power of those mudslides. numerous are still on the slopes cut off from rescuers. they re facing serious risk of being washed away. one described the disaster as a tsunami that fell from the sky. well, australia, we ve been telling you about this, too. it s another country struggling against that flooding. water today is finally receding in parts of hard hit brisbane. these pictures show damage in a suburb. the tone and many like it can coated in a slick muddy sludge. at least 16 people were killed. more than 50 are missing.
