Mountain Home Education Foundation announces 2021 inductees

Mountain Home proclaims July 15 as Bob Knight Day

The city chose July 15 as Bob Knight Day because that will be his 76th birthday. Knight is one of the co-owners of Mountain Lakes Broadcasting Corp. and serves as president and general manager of KTLO AM 1240 and KTLO FM 97.9, KCTT Classic Hits 101.7 and KBOD 99.7 The Boot. He also hosts the KTLO FM morning show, helping thousands of listeners get out of bed and get their days started. The city’s proclamation reads in part, “We have been waking up to Bob’s voice in the Twin Lakes Area on KTLO for over 40 years. Not only is he that familiar voice on the radio, but he is a pillar in this community that we want to recognize.”

Gilbert Family supports MHEF

The Mountain Home Education Foundation (MHEF) Board of Directors announces a $5,000 gift made by Todd Gilbert and Jodi Strother. Gilbert and Strother, both graduates of Mountain Home Public Schools, selected the MHEF for this donation for its goal of supporting educational programs for both students and staff of Mountain Home Public Schools. “We appreciate Todd and Jodi so much for this generous gift,” says Jennifer Seaman, executive director of the MHEF. “They do so much for so many, and we are honored that they chose to support their alma mater through this donation.” The MHEF’s three major projects include The Mountain Home Promise (providing MHHS graduates four semesters tuition-free at ASUMH after other aid is applied), traditional scholarships predominantly given as honorarium or memorial gifts to students who plan to attend other post-secondary institutions besides ASUMH and teaching grants that allow MHPS educators to try new, innovative projects in their cla
