A respected former headmaster has pleaded guilty to working at a number of Victoria s most prestigious schools without a teaching qualification. Neil Lennie is described by his former students and colleagues as an outstanding teacher devoted to his job, but there was one problem. Mr Lennie spent five decades in Victorian classrooms without any qualifications. Neil Lennie taught at some of Melbourne s most elite schools.(Nine) The 72-year-old has pleaded guilty to four counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception. His offending dates back to 1976 when he used his father s teaching registration to get a job at Mount Scopus Memorial College in Burwood, then Haileybury before he was promoted to headmaster at Caulfield Grammar followed by Keilor s Overnewton Anglican Community College.
