On Monday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD departed Brisbane for Official Travel to Banana Shire Council and Central Highlands Regional Council. Following, at Mount Morgan Hospital, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing on operations, toured the facility and met with staff and patients. Following, at the Banana Shire Council Chambers, Biloela, Her Excellency and Professor received a briefing from Council representatives. In the afternoon, at Biloela Fire Station, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted an Afternoon Reception for members of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and the Governor addressed guests. In the evening, at Hotel Settlers Bistro and Restaurant, Biloela, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a working dinner with the Banana Shire Council Mayor, Councillor Neville Ferrier and Deputy Mayor Councillor Colin Semple.

Woman who had dogs stolen hit by car

Premium Content Subscriber only A woman whose dogs were allegedly stolen in late May was hit by a car in Mount Morgan on Wednesday afternoon. Reports suggested the woman saw her dogs and was subsequently hit by a car on the corner of Central Street and Morgan Street at 5.15pm. Man taken to hospital after Razorback Rd crash

Premium Content Subscriber only UPDATE 5PM: A man in his 60s was taken to hospital after a crash at Baree just before 3pm Monday. Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics transported the man to Mount Morgan Hospital in a stable condition following a single-vehicle crash on Razorback Road and Calliungal Road at 2.52pm. UPDATE 3.10PM: A man is being treated at the scene of a crash on Razorback Road. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed crews were at the scene of the single vehicle crash at Baree. She said a man in his 60s, who was the only person in the vehicle, was suffering neck pain and being assessed by paramedics.
