We are seeing accumulation, mostly, on the grassy surfaces but you have to watch the roadways, just allow yourself a a lot of extra time. That is best advice we can give you. It looks like the changeover is mostly complete at least temperature with the change of precipitation from rain to snow, it will look more in depth. You can see is what happening in olde city big flat snow flakes falling 36 degrees, sunrise at 7 06. Thirtyseven in allentown. We have 33 degrees in pottstown. Philadelphia a a. Couple degrees above freezing. Colder air moving in is why we change over from rain to snow and that change over will continue throughout the rest of the morning and because the snow is falling so heavily we will only have, and and trenton and wrightstown as well. That snow could pile up quickly along the coast, one to 2 inches or grassy surfaces. And tough to navigate. The less north and west of the city. But then by lunchtime or maybe shortly thereafter the sunnies out, and we will get to a high of 42 degrees. It will be dry this evening as well. Weekend forecast is coming up in just a few. Bob kelly is here right the now. Hey sue good morning. 7 01. Getting ready to head out front door, little ones getting ready, there are School Delays scrolling a at the bottom of the screen there. And humid day with tep in the mid 90s and heat indexes between 100 and 105. Take it easy out there and take it slow. The other issue is the possibility of severe weather. Its a slight risk but it has been posted across the entire region by the National Weather service and that means any storms that form later today or this evening could produce gusty winds downpours and lightning and maybe damaging winds so take cover from any storms that form later today or tonight. For now were not seeing much out there. But as we get into the afternoon heating and a cold front gets a little closer to us from the west we will have the potential for at least some spotty storms. Temperatures right now are already warm and it already feels muggy. 76 degrees right now in philadelphia, 77 in wilmington, even in allentown were up to 74. And 72 in sea isle city. As we roll through the day the heat is on. 83 degrees by 9 oclock and by noon well be at 90. I believe that is the fastest 90 degrees that weve see
On out there right now but we have a cold front thats slowly inching its way here and as we get into the afternoon heating some of this little itty bitty stuff popping is going to turn into more pronounced thunderstorm activity especially in the northern and western suburbs this afternoon and perhaps in and around philadelphia and beyond later this evening. A Severe Weather throughout risk exists today from the National Weather service. Anything that does form here while it is spotty could produce gusty winds downpours and lightning and so thats something to keep in mind.
