25-year-old Concord police officer killed during shootout :: WRAL com

Updated December 17, 2020 9:21 a.m. EST By WCNC Charlotte Concord, N.C. A Concord police officer was killed and a second officer was injured in a shooting Wednesday night, WCNC Charlotte reports. According to police, the 25-year-old officer and an armed suspect were shot around 11 p.m. about a mile from the Charlotte Motor Speedway. A second police officer was also shot and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. During a Thursday morning press conference, Concord Police Chief Gary Gacek said officers originally responded to a call about a car crash on Bruton Smith Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found an abandoned vehicle.
